She’s so naturally funny in confessionals and in the work room – I’m obsessed with her walking around in the shoulder pads of The Vivienne in this week’s open cold – but it’s another thing to translate that in the show’s various challenge formats. I’d like to better understand Jaida’s perspectives in these comedic challenges. Still, his space at the top doesn’t feel quite safe yet. Combined with a dominant lip-sync win and the ball challenge win she probably should have gotten in her original season, and it was a really good week for Jaida.

Entering an improv challenge seems like a very savvy move. Hall of Jaida EssencesĪ big debut win for Jaida gave her a legendary Legend star, and she wisely used her lip-sync victory to block Jinkx Monsoon. I can’t wait to see how she’ll play this. But at some point, Monét will gain a lip-sync and have to take a big step. And I think it’s helpful, because as she noted, she plays Drag Survivor this season.

(Especially the top, which looked like green foil.) Monét benefits somewhat from the low position, as the main competitors continue to chase with the blocks. But I missed her as much as she struck me since her victory at Rumix last week, his take on Martin Lawrence in Snatch Game didn’t make much of an impression, and this week, his emerald Realness of Fortune Eleganza looked messy. I really liked his imitation of Mike Tyson in Snatch Game, and I laughed a lot at his very witty Bob the Drag Queen Elizabeth in the Ball. She still features heavily based on her star rating - which is ultimately all that matters this season - but Monét’s dominance in the premiere has led to more mixed performances in the final two episodes. The improv task ahead, on the other hand, may not be where it thrives. If she can do more of that, I could see her getting to the top in a few challenges. I’d love to see Yvie embrace more of the spirit that went into her Cardi Bea Arthur, a creative concept that, while not fully confirmed in its execution, nevertheless thrilled the judges and expressed her very distinct point of view. Her efforts in the Realness of Fortune Ball this week were pretty disappointing, especially her totally off-kilter Vanna White look and her “best editorial ghost” that wasn’t good enough. Yvie OddlyĪside from her bogeyman in Snatch Game Round 2, I’m not sure Yvie has yet demonstrated why she came back for another shot at the crown. Weaker efforts, like her other two looks this week, will keep her out of contention for victory. A similar outing to her fitted and impeccably crafted Realness of Fortune Eleganza will bring her closer to the crown. I can’t wait to see her burst despite the entrenchment of Divina de Campo during UK Season 1, I’ve become a fan of The Vivienne, and I want to see her succeed in a tightly matched crop. She feels separated from the rest of the competition at this point. With this week’s results, Viv is the only queen to not even receive so much as a shoutout in deliberations, let alone a win. But come on, judges! Aunty Raja deserves her due! The Vivienne On the bright side, her early rebuffs keep her out of firefighting before the strategy inevitably changes later in the season. The fact that she apparently lost that top spot to the same queen (Trinity the Tuck) both times only makes it more frustrating. The idea that she’s still cute – but not quite on the subject – Olivia Newton-John Waters is what kept her from making the top two, despite a gorgeous final look and a perfect Vanna White Realness, is absurd. Raja has now been robbed twice, which is absurd.
